Lock and Key
Sarah Dessen is absolutely amazing. Lock and Key was one of the best books I've read all year, and that's saying something because I have read a lot of good books. I recommend this book to everybody that like books with meanings behind them. I give this book five stars and two thumbs up and I compliment Dessen's amazing writing style.
What happens when your past is not just past, but wiped clean entirely? How do you figure out where you're going when you can't even claim where you've been? These were the questions that inspired Lock and Key. It's the story of a girl named Ruby who is abandoned by her mother and determined to make it on her own, even---and especially---when she is sent to live with her long-lost sister in a whole new world of privilege, family, and relationships. As Ruby learns, there's a big difference between being given help and being able to accept it. And sometimes, it takes reaching out to someone else to save yourself.

Dark Visions
I just finished reading another book by L.J. Smith, Dark Visions. I have read almost every book she's written. Dark Visions was an excellent book that I recommend to anybody who likes vampires, witches, werewolves, etc. I give this book two thumbs up and its a must read. I'll give a quick summary of both books.
Kaitlyn is an artist, but not an ordinary one. She draws pictures of things that are going to happen in the future. Everything she draws come true—but sometimes she can’t figure out what she’s drawn until it’s too late. Kait is only too happy when Dr. Xetes, a scientist who is studying psychic abilities, invites her to come to California and join his school of similarly talented individuals. There Kaitlyn meets golden boy Rob, a healer, and the dark lone wolf Gabriel who apparently wants nothing to do with her. But with so much supernatural energy going around, it’s hardly surprising that the psychics develop a telepathic link that can’t be broken.

New Moon Trailer #3
I saw the New Moon trailer that MTV will be airing tonight at the MTV VMAs. They gave us all a little sneak peek (which were screen caps!). Since I can’t post the actual leaked video on here. This will do!
They also recap what we can expect with the new trailer -
When it comes to Bella, the teaser video shows the high school student bereft after Edward leaves for Italy, which leads her to attempt an adrenaline-seeking series of stunts. The trailer shows Bella submerged underwater as a vision of Edward floats upside down next to her and Jacob’s arm reaches out to pull her to safety. We also see Bella speeding down a road on a motorcycle as a vision of Edward flutters in the background. No doubt, she is continually haunted by his presence throughout the film. But eventually, Bella shows up in Italy, and we see them together again, albeit uneasily.
We also get the Volturi, those vampires residing in the ancient Italian city of Volterra who have become a kind of royal governing authority in the vampire world, delivering swift, violent justice to anyone who threatens their way of life. There’s red-pupiled Jane (Dakota Fanning), a powerful young member of the clan whose special ability is to inflict incapacitating pain with her thoughts — a skill she developed after being burned at the stake as a child. The teaser also delivers a shot of the Volturi leaders: Aro (Michael Sheen), the founder of the coven and its de facto leader; super-creepy Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl), who wanders through life in a zombie-like haze; and Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower), a viciously cruel vampire with murderous inclinations.
And don’t forget about the two male heroes of “New Moon.” We see the werewolf Jacob consoling Bella after Edward has skipped town, as well as a rad shot of the beast bearing its fangs as several more of its kind sniff around in the woods. Meanwhile, off in Italy, we see Edward taking off his shirt in broad daylight. For a vampire, that cannot be a good thing! He also gets into a fight with one of the Volturi, who grabs him by the neck.

Cali
I'm back in Cali from my vacation during the summer. School has started and I officially read 41 books this summer. I am so happy, I reached my goal.
In the car ride back to Cali I read two books, If I Told You I Love You, Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter and Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen.
If I Told You I Love You, Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter was an okay book it wasn't really good an it wasn't bad. I think it lacked a lot of pow. In give it 3 stars, but I don't recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.
Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen on the other hand was a really good book. I stayed up all night reading it not wanting to read it. I complement the author on her writing styles of hers, and I am definintely a fan of hers now. The book was about a girl named Auden who never slept at night. Ever since her parents' divorce - or since the fighting started. Then she choses to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live.
A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she's been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.
In her signature pitch-perfect style, Sarah Dessen explores the hearts of two lonely
people learning to connect.
I give it five out of five stars. It was a really good book, and I recommend this to every this book to everyone looking for a gut-wrencher.

Finished Catching Fire
I finished Catching Fire and I loved it. It was an excellent book full of suprise, excitement, and fighting. Suzanne Collins exceeded all of my expectations and this book was truly as good as the first one.
Catching Fire explained more about the Capitol and their no good deeds. Peeta and Katniss grew closer than ever and so did Gale and Peeta. This book will not disappoint so I advise you go buy it today. I won't post any spoilers, but if you want to know anything about the book, or if you do want spoilers just leave a comment on the comment section.

Catching Fire
I just got Catching Fire at Barnes and Noble. It is really good so far and I'm learning new things about the characters every second. I'm only on page 40, but currently Catching Fire is not disappointing my expectations. Suzanne Collins is such a skilled and experienced writer, so go out and buy the book right now. I can't wait to finish the book and I'll update again when I do. For right now I'm off to read, may the odds be ever in you favor.
40 Books
I finally hit the record of reading 40 books this summer. I'm so happy and glad I was able to read this many. Summer almost over and I'm grateful to have reached my goal.
